Our Mission

Folklore Salon & Barber builds community by facilitating visibility, artistic expression, and togetherness. We are an intentional space that celebrates the Los Angeles LGBTQ community experience by investing in its history and future. Folklore’s commitment to community goes beyond hair-care services by actively showcasing and partnering with local Queer artists, businesses, and social justice organizations We value and encourage the contribution of our allies in the upholding of this mission statement.

PRIVACY POLICY
We care deeply about your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy page.

CANCELLATIONS
Less than 24hr notice of a Haircut cancellation or reschedule is subject to a fee. That fee is 100% of the booked service.

COLOR POLICY
We require a 72 hr advance notice to reschedule and cancel your color service. (These services are lengthy) Anything less than 72 hours will result in a fee of 50% of the original service booked.

We require a consultation before you make a color appointment. You can book this online or feel free to give us a call.

NO SHOWS
…are not cool. When you don’t show up for your appointment, the stylist goes home empty handed for the time lost. Failure to show up for a scheduled appointment without a notice via an email, call or text gives us the permission to charge 100% of the scheduled service and the possibility of the stylist refusing any future services. Your time is money – so is ours.

LATE TO THE SHOW?
Being 10 min late or more may compromise the full service.

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
We are no longer requiring clients to wear masks, but they are recommended for the health and safety of others as well as the staff. We always have masks available upon request at the front desk! If you are immunocompromised, please let us know and we will accommodate by ensuring all staff and clients wear a mask during your appointment.

ALLERGY ALERT
Other clients may bring their ESA into the salon during their appointments, if you have a severe dog allergy and are concerned please give us a call to confirm whether a dog is present at the salon.
